In the section of a monocot root, the central portion is occupied by large, well developed pith. It is made from thin walled parenchymatou tissue. The vascular bundle (xylem and phloem) is radial, arranged in a ring. Xylem and phloem are found at different radii alternating with each other. Therefore, the given section is of monocot root.
