If a parallelogram is reduced to have dimensions that are half as long, then the perimeter isalso half the original length.


If you imagine a square with sid lengths of 4, the original perimeter is 16. When the dimensions are halved to be 2, the new perimeter is 8. 8 is half of 16, not a fourth of 16.
