42 ft is the height of the tree measure from the observer's eye-level.


The height of the tree is this height added to 6.1 ft.

It’s 48.1 since
6.1/16 =0.38125
Tan inverse 0.38124= 20.86934
90-20.86934= 69.13065
Tan(69.13065) x 16 =41.96721
41.96721 + 6.1 = 48.06721 approximately 48.1
