There were a few reasons why the British soldiers decided to fire upon the Boston townspeople in the Boston massacre. At the time, the British soldiers and colonists had strong resentment towards each other. But, the argument began to escalate as more colonists came and began to harass and throw objects at the soldiers. As a result of this, five men were killed.
