Asthma is an autoimmune disease.

auto means self.
immune refers to the immune system

So when you're having an asthma attack the immune system is attacking another organ in order to protect. (swelling) AKA. flooding with immune cells.

Is asthma an autoimmune disease as a result when immune system?
