Many Americans say the Atomic Bomb was the only reason why Japan surrendered. While this is partially correct, the main reason Japan surrendered to America was the USSR. Japan wanted to keep its Emperor at all costs, and the USSR did NOT like kings. Japan figured out that if they surrendered to the US, the Emperor would stay on the throne. Also, the US used the bomb as a way to "scare" the USSR, kicking off the Cold War.
