Winthrop believed you should give to others who need help. not only to people but to the community. this attitude fostered the belief that there is an interdependence of mankind. Every man might have need of others, this would make man more tightly knit together in the bonds of brotherly love. the wealthy are permitted to be wealthy not for their own benefit but for the glory of the creator and man. God allows the wealthy man to be wealthy so he can share his wealth with the poor man so both can benefit.
