CF is perpendicular to AE

Since those two triangles are congruent, all of their sides have to be equal as well as their angles. If CF was not equal to AE, then the two corresponding angles of the triangle which are also supplementary angles will not be congruent. The only pair of angle measures that is both supplementary and equal is 90 and 90. I hope this helps!
