Pls use " ^ " to denote exponentiation: y ≥ -x^2 + 1

We know that the graph of the parabola y=x^2 opens up and has its vertex at (0,0). The graph of y= -x^2 is also a parabola, but it opens down. Finally, the graph of y = -x^2 + 1 is the same as that of the previous graph, except that it's been translated 1 unit UP.

Graph y = -x^2 + 1. Then shade the entire area above the graph to obtain the graph of y ≥ -x^2 + 1.

Plug in numbers for x to get an output, y

For example:

When x = 1

y ≥ -1² + 1
y ≥ 1 + 1
y ≥ 2
