The Sweet Hereafter opens with the scene of a tragic bus accident. Dolores Driscoll, the bus driver has been an experienced driver for 22 years. While on the road and picking up her passengers, it suddenly started snowing. It didn't faze her one bit because she has known the road she's taking for so long and that she is very experienced driving in the snow.
