Just as same-base exponents can be added when multiplied, you should subtract the exponent when the numbers are being divided:

(c^9d^(-7))/(c^(14)d^(-10)) = c^((9-14))d^((-7+10)) = c^(-5)d^3 = (d^3)/(c^5)
