A patient passing away is part of the health-wellness continuum. The stages of grief are applicable to healthcare providers as well as family. How might you tell other patients who inquire on the passed patient? For example, “I haven’t seen Marg in here lately, is she okay?” Provide an example of one or two sentences.

Experts commend that in delivering a message must be honest and clear about what has happened. Keep language simple, and be ready to answer questions truthfully. Avoid phrases like 'gone to sleep'. If you don't know how to begin the conversation, or feel you're making things worse, seek help from others who knows very well.
