Type I, atopic or anaphylactic

Type I hypersensitivity is an immediate allergic reaction. It is caused by a reexposure to a foreign substance or an allergen--in this case, nuts. Allergens are antigens that was exposed to the client via ingestion. Antibody IgE mediates the anaphylactic repsonse.
