Kevin has 3 cakes for his birthday, and he will give 1/4 of cake to each of his friends. The question is: How many friends can Kevin give cake to with the 3 cakes he has?

And then the answer can be found by dividing 3 by 1/4:


3 ÷
(1)/(4)
=(3*4)/(1*1)=12

if he gives 1/4 of cake to each friends, the 3 cakes are enough for 12 friends.
