The basolateral complex and the central nucleus are both part of the amygdala. The basolateral amygdala processes stimuli's motivational value. It consists of the lateral, basal and accessory-basal nuclei. The central nucleus processes pain information. It is also related to emotions's physiological components such as blood pressure, heart rate and respiration.
