we know that
for 4 ounces of lotion
ounces of oil blend=4-g

cost of the lotion=cost oil blend+cost glycerin
$5.50=(4-g)*$1.50+$1.00*g

in the table,
the value of x represents the cost of the oil blend
so
x=(4-g)*1.5

therefore

the answer is
x=(4-g)*1.5
