To find how many gallons for 1400 miles set up a ratio:
28 gallons / 575 miles = X gallons / 1400 miles
Cross multiply.
1400 x 28 = 39,200
Divide that by 575 to get X
x = 39,200 / 575 = 68.17 gallons. Round answer as needed.
