Why was Brutus the noble character in Julius Caesar? Explain

Well, he is a tragic character. He thinks that whatever he is doing is for the good of Rome.
Since Cassius simply wanted to kill Caesar for his own selfish reasons...Brutus wanted to keep everyone from caesars Dictator ways.
