Ans.

Vascular smooth muscles are a particular type of smooth muscle, having contractile fibers and form majority of the blood vessels' walls. These muscles contact or relax to change the local blood pressure by changing the volume of blood vessels and are responsible for distribution of blood to different body parts.

Arteries show more smooth muscles as compare to veins and have thicker walls. It is because arteries are required to carry pumped blood to all body organs and tissues away from heart.
