In Samantha's English class, her current grade is calculated by finding the average of the scores she received on her terms papers. Samantha's last term paper brought her average up to a 91 from an 89, which was her average from the first three. Samantha claims that she scored a 97 on her fourth term paper. Is Samantha's claim true?

Yes Samantha’s claim is true

Her average for the first 3 was 89. So,
89 x 3 = 267

You then would add the supposed 97 to the already combined test scores.

This gives you 364. Which you then divide by 4, as there are 4 total tests.

This gives you an average of 91
