The Virginia Company went bankrupt once Jamestown was settled.

Jamestown colony was settled in the state of Virginia on May 14th, 1607. Its main goal was to install colonial settlements in North America. The company's duty was to look for profitable materials such as silver and gold and send it to England in order to repay investors. However, investiments went down when the mortality rate in Jamestown increased leading to the company's bankruptcy.
