So, the triangle ABC is similar to triangle DEC


(AB)/(DE)= (BC)/(EC) = (AC)/(DC) = constant = m

BC = 8 and EC = 5 ⇒⇒⇒ So,
m=(8)/(5)


AC = m * DC = (8)/(5)*6 = \framebox{9.6}
