Hi guys! i need help with slopes please! so my problem is

(20,-3) (19,-20)
x1 y1 x2 y2

when i solved i got -17/-1, but my calculator says it's 17! i tried searching and it said to divide the fraction to get 17, but why do i have to divide? can someone please help me, thank u!

yes your cauculators correct, it is 17

-17/-1 and 17 are the same so you are correct!

Explanation:

in the fraction, -17/-1, you want to get rid of the negatives. in order to do that, you have to get rid of them on both the numerator and denominator! so the new fraction would be 17/1, and that would be simplified to just 17! so you are correct, i hope this helps!
