Your answer would be, The goal of argumentative writing is to persuade his or her audiences., that his or her ideas are more valid than someone else. The Greek Philosopher Aristotle's, divided the means of persuasion into three categories, Ethos, Logos, and Pathos.

Ethos - (Greek), refers to credibility, or ethical appeal. convincing by the character of the author.

Pathos -(Greek), Suffering and experience (Emotional),. persuasion by appealing to the readers emotions.

Logos - (Greek), to the internal consistency of the message, claims, the most important of the three. Logical, persuading by the use of reasoning.
