According to Erik Erikson, the fourth stage of psychosocial development involves the conflict :Industry versus inferiority. Children who do well in school and get along with other children will emerge from this stage feeling competent, while those who do not have successful social interactions and academic challenges may end up feeling inferior and lack self-confidence.
