The social instability during that time period was a huge factor at the start of the Haitian Revolution. Because of this, the political system became unstable. A result of the Revolution was that of a long struggle of slaves in the French colony. Slaves wanted to get rid of slavery altogether since it was only abolished in some areas of Europe.
