In this excerpt Brack uses the terms “a solemn responsibility” and “A new responsibility” referring to parenting, we suspect that Hedda is pregnant and see how she reject all related to marriage and womanhood. From the options given the correct answer would be motherhood, the answer is B.

The responsibility that Brack refers to is motherhood - Letter B.

Brack suspects Hedda is pregnant (along with Julia). George said she's been filling out. Hedda is angry at his suggestion as she always is. She says she will never be a mother - Be quiet! Nothing of that sort will ever happen! - has no interest in it.
