Conflict resolution is a process involved in the peaceful resolution of a conflict. It is a broader term than dialogue because it identifies several strategies or solutions an individual may use in peacebuilding. A dialogue is one of these solutions.

The goal of a dialogue is to develop joint approaches to conflict resolution, and in so doing, improve relationships, understanding, and trust between individuals or groups who are in conflict with one another.
