I may be mistaken, so please correct me if I am, but I'm fairly positive that she references people she doesn't like as "rotten drivers". I know for sure that she mentions that to Nick at the end of the story. I also know that when she says that, she means that she made a poor choice to be involved with Nick. She is trying to get the point across figuratively, though.
