Sample Response: The axis of Uranus is tilted so that it appears to be rotating on its side. This may have been caused by a collision with a planet-sized body, which dramatically changed Uranus's rotation.

Uranus rotates on its side. Its axial tilt is 97.8 degrees, which is 74.3 degrees more than Earth. Scientists suspect that it may have been caused by a collision or series of collisions, although they believe it is probably more complicated than that.
