I think it is true but someone else says it false so I don’t know ?

It’s false because critical essays are to evaluate someone’s work. Ex: If you were to write an essay on animals going extinct, that wouldn’t be a critical essay, it would be informative. But if you wrote one about a specific book about animals going extinct and reviewed it’s writing & credibility, that would be a critical essay. :)
