Maureen, a talented painter, started a business making handmade furniture with customized designs painted on each piece. Because she knows nothing about marketing, you'd advise her to

A. rely on word-of-mouth to sell her furniture.

B. hire an outsider with marketing experience.

C. teach herself how to market the products.

D. ask a relative to handle marketing for her.

And c is wrong

A. rely on word-of-mouth to sell her furniture
This method is cost-effective and would go a long way in the business world. Patience is the key to its success and maintaining the standard of quality & integrity will be her focus. With this, she will make long-term customers.

I believe the answer is: B. hire an outsider with marketing experience.

By hiring an outsider with marketing experience, Maureen could focus all of her time solely on creating the best quality products while the marketers can handle all of the sales. Even though the cost may be high in the beginning of the operation, Maureen would start to see profit when her costumer base start to grow.
