Solve 0=4x^2+12x+9 using the quadratic formula.

The quadratic formula is
x = (-b \pm √(b^2 - 4ac) )/(2a). With the values from this equation plugged in, it looks like this:


x = (-12 \pm √(12^2 - 4(4)(9)) )/(2(4)) \\ \\ x = (-12 \pm √(144 - 144) )/(8) \\ \\ x = (-12)/(8) \\ \\ x = - (3)/(2)

The solution is x = - 3/2
