because with out them it would be hard and nearly impossible to lift things or do the average everyday walking

Soleus or the calf muscle refers to the muscles, which can pull with the greatest force. The muscle is located underneath the gastrocnemius. It is considered as the muscle with the greatest absolute strength as it is very essential for the purpose of running, walking, and dancing. It is regarded as a very robust muscle as it possesses the tendency to pull against the gravitational force in order to keep the body upright.
