How would I solve this?

Select all of the following equations that would have the point (4, 16) located on their graph. There is more than one answer.

y = x^2

y = 2^x

y = (1/2)^x

y = |-4x|

y = - |4x|

y = 2x

Subst. 4 for x and 16 for y in each of these given equations. If one particular equation is then true, we know that (4,16) is a "solution" of the equation, or the coordinates of a point on the graph.

Example: Does (4,16) satisfy y = 2x? Is 16 = 2(4) true? NO. Therefore, y=2x is not satisfied by the given point (4,16).

You must check out all the remaining equations in the same fashion.
