In Greek mythology, King Minos, who was the son of Zeus and Europa, lived at the Palace of Knossos. He ordered a skilled craftsman named Daedalus to build a labyrinth to keep his son, the Minotaur, who was half bull and half man. Sir.Arthur Evans began the excavation in Knossos in 1900 AD and continued for 35 years.
