When an individual is exposed to extremely low air temperatures, the dermal blood vessels will constrict so that blood heat will be conserved. Constriction of dermal blood vessels to retain heat. When is is cold outside, the dermal blood vessels constrict and pull the blood away from the skin and keeps it close to the body to protect crucial internal organs.
