2x + 5y = 10
2x + 3y = 6

You must remember:
Same sign = -
Different sign = +

2x + 5y - (2x + 3y) = 10-6
2x + 5y - 2x - 3y = 4
2x - 2x + 5y - 3y = 4
2y = 4
y = 4÷2
y = 2

2x + 5(2) = 10
2x = 10-10
2x = 0
x= 0÷2
x = 0

2x + 5y=10 .........equation 1
2x + 3y=6 .........equation 2

subtracting eq 2 from eq 1 we get
2y =4
y=2
putting y=2 in eq 1
we get
x=0
