He goes 50 mph for 200 miles, meaning he travels 200/50 = 4 hours.
He then goes 40 mph for 100 miles, meaning he travels 100/40 = 2.5 hours.
So, he travels 300 miles in 6.5 hours, meaning he goes 300/6.5 = 46.1538 mph.
