Which direction does the graph of f(x) = (x − 3)(2x − 5) open?

If you FOIL this out you'll get a second degree polynomial which is always a parabola. If the leading coefficient is positive both tails go up. Ours is positive so it opens upwards. A "y = " polynomial opens up or down while an "x = " polynomial opens sideways (right or left).
