The presence of Mr. Jim crow in all public places was legally ended by the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
The civil rights Act of 1964, ended the segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination, on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin. It is considered one of the crowning legislative achievements of the civil rights movement.
