you have decided to remodel your bathroom and put tile on the floor. The bathroom is in shape of a rectangle and the floor measures 14 feet 8 inches by 5 feet 6 inches. The tile you want to use costs $5 each and tile covers 4 2/3 square feet. If you have $100 to spend, do you have enough to complete the project

14 ft 8 inches:8 inches = 8/12 of a foot = 2/3 of a footSo length is 14 2/3 ft 5 ft 6 inches = 5 1/2 ft Floor area:  (14 2/3)(5 1/2) = (44/3)(11/2) = 22(11)/3 = 242/3 ft2 of floor area Divide the total floor area by the area covered by each tile to get the numberof tiles needed.  If there is any fraction, round up to next whole number.Multiply that number by the cost per tile. If the area per tile is 4 2/3 ft2 then:(242/3)/(4 2/3) = (242/3)/(14/3) = (242/3)(3/14) = 242/14 = 17.3 tiles.Rounded up we need 18 tiles. 18(5) = $90
