By definition, the area of the shaded region is given by:
A = (s' / s) * ( \pi ) * (r ^ 2)
Where,
r: radius of the circle
s'/s: relationship of arcs
Substituting values we have:
A = (270/360) * ( \pi ) * (4 ^ 2) A = 12 * \pi
Answer:
The area of the shaded region is:
A = 12 * \pi
option 1

we know that
area of circle =pi*r²
for r=4 ft
area=pi*4²------> 16*pi ft²

the shaded sector of the circle represent 3/4 of the total area
so
3/4*16*pi-----> 12*pi ft²

the answer is
12*pi ft²
