Why was the capital of South Carolina relocated from Charleston to Columbia in 1786?

The answer is "because of the political discontent, the State’s leaders decided to move the capital city to a central location which was in Columbia." To avoid in political disagreements or even war they decided to move the capital to a central location in the middle of the state.
