The Sonderkommando was a unit of German death camp prisoners that was made by the Nazis during the Holocaust in WWII. This unit would aid in the process of killing prisoners in the gas chambers by handling the corpses after the gassing. The Sonderkommando prisoners were usually fit, young Jewish people.

Sonderkommandos were work units made up of German Nazi death camp prisoners. They were composed of prisoners, usually Jews, who were forced, on threat of their own deaths, to aid with the disposal of gas chamber victims during the Holocaust. Hope it helps you.....
