Based on the result in this experiment, the mobile phase rose up on the TLC plate then dragged the ink from the marked dot up along the TLC plate, which is the light pink pigment whose Rf was 0.98 had the greatest affinity to the mobile phase. Moreover, the pigment that was closer to the marked dot was more attracted to the stationary phase, which is the dark pink spot that had an Rf of 0.72 and had a greater affinity to the stationary phase.
