d. Estuary

- An estuary is a partially enclosed body of water along a coast or beach and open to the ocean or a large lake. Estuaries occur when fresh water from a river mix with the salt water from the ocean creating brackish water. Estuaries are made up of many different types of habitat such as swamps, beaches, mudflats, and tidal pools.
