A mutation which results in a change in the coding sequence of dna such that one amino acid in a protein is replaced by a different amino acid is referred to as?

This would be a point mutation (and could be the change of 1 or 2 nucleotides in one codon that results in a different amino acid being called for). This ends up in a missense mutation.
