What is the name of the disease that occurs when there is above-normal sugar in the blood and urine caused by problems in metabolizing carbohydrates?

Diabetes.
Type I is caused because your body can’t produce the hormone insulin that is involved in the negative feedback mechanism of keeping the blood glucose concentration in check.
Type II is caused because your cell receptors/cells have become desensitised to insulin.
