A right triangle's equation for sides is

c= \sqrt{ a^(2) +b^(2) }
Not as bad as it sounds
C is your hypotinuse
a is one side length by the right angle
b is the other side length

EX: If you are given a triangle with the sides 3in and 4in and you were to find the hypotenuse
Simply put them in

\sqrt{ 3^(2) +4^(2) }
Square

√(9+16)
Add

√(25)
and get the final answer of 5

I hope this helps!
